The IKO shell type needle roller bearing, part# TA2015Z, features a 20mm bore, 27mm outer diameter (OD), and a width of 15mm, designed for heavy-duty applications. This bearing consists of an outer ring made from accurately drawn thin special steel plate and needle rollers, with options for a retainer. It is characterized by its minimal sectional height and weight, providing relatively high load ratings. The needle roller bearing with retainer is suitable for high-speed applications, where the retainer and thrust ring ensure precise roller guidance. However, these bearings do not come pre-packed with lubricant, so proper lubrication must be applied during use. They are generally utilized with shafts that lack inner rings, with a recommended shaft surface finish of 0.2 µm Ra or less and hardness between HRC 58 to 64. If these specifications cannot be met, the use of IKO inner rings is advisable. Due to the thin cross-section of the outer ring, it is subject to deformation from heat treatment, making direct measurements on the outer ring inappropriate; instead, standard mounting dimensions for shaft and housing diameters should be used. The tolerance for the outer ring width is +0 to -0.20 mm.
