The IKO shell type needle roller bearing metric, part# TLA2020Z, features a 20mm bore, 26mm outer diameter, and 20mm width. This bearing, known for its drawn cup design, is constructed from a thin, accurately drawn special steel plate, containing needle rollers with the option of having a retainer. With the smallest sectional height and weight among needle roller bearings, it provides relatively high load ratings, making it suitable for high-speed applications when paired with a retainer and thrust ring that guide the rollers precisely. It is important to note that shell type needle roller bearings do not come pre-packed with lubricant, necessitating proper lubrication during use. These bearings are typically used with shafts that do not have inner rings, and it is recommended that the shaft surface finish be 0.2µm Ra or less, with a shaft hardness of HRC 58 to 64. If these conditions cannot be met, the use of IKO inner rings is advised. Due to their thin cross sections, the outer ring may experience deformation from heat treatment, so direct measurements on the outer ring are not recommended; instead, standard mounting dimensions for shaft and housing diameters should be used. The tolerance for the outer ring width is +0 to -0.20 mm.
