The Iko Shell Type Needle Roller Bearing is a heavy-duty metric bearing with a 30mm bore, 40mm outer diameter, and a width of 30mm, identified by part# TA3030Z. This bearing features an outer ring made from accurately drawn thin special steel plate and incorporates needle rollers, with options for a retainer. It boasts the smallest sectional height and weight compared to other needle roller bearings while maintaining relatively high load ratings. The needle roller bearing with retainer is suitable for high-speed applications as the retainer and thrust ring precisely guide the rollers. It is important to note that these bearings do not come pre-packed with lubricant; proper lubrication must be applied during use. Shell type needle roller bearings are typically utilized with shafts that do not have inner rings, with a recommended shaft surface finish of 0.2 µm Ra or less and hardness between HRC 58 to 64. If these specifications cannot be achieved, the use of Iko inner rings is advised. Moreover, due to the thin cross-section of the outer ring, deformation during heat treatment can occur, making direct measurement of the outer ring inappropriate. Standard mounting dimensions should be referenced for shaft and housing diameters, with an outer ring width tolerance of +0 to -0.20 mm.
