The IKO cam follower is a caged, double-sealed unit with a 2" outer diameter, 1-1/4" width, and a 7/8 - 14 thread. It features a construction of needle rollers, a stud acting inner ring raceway, and a thick-walled outer ring, designed to endure heavy rolling or shock loads. The cam follower is available with either cylindrical or crowned outer rings; the crowned design helps alleviate uneven loads caused by deflection, bending, or misalignment during mounting. There are two internal designs to choose from: one featuring a cage for high-speed applications and the other with a full complement for handling heavy loads. These cam followers serve as follower bearings for cam mechanisms or linear motions and are commonly employed in machine tools, industrial robots, electronic devices, and office automation equipment, valued for their high rigidity and accuracy. Each unit is pre-packed with grease, and adequate lubrication is necessary between the cam followers and the steel track they operate on to prevent seizure and reduce friction. Additionally, an appropriate nut is included with the stud for secure installation.
