The IKO cam follower-inch is a heavy-duty, full complement component featuring a hex hole with a 2-1/4" outer diameter (OD) and a 1-1/4" width, designed with a 1-1/8 - 12 thread. This cam follower incorporates needle rollers, a stud acting inner ring raceway, and a thick-walled outer ring to endure heavy rolling or shock loads. It is available with either cylindrical or crowned outer rings, with the crowned design helping to mitigate uneven loads that arise from deflection, bending, or misalignment during mounting. There are two internal configurations: one includes a cage for high-speed applications, while the other features a full complement structure suited for heavy loads. These cam followers serve as follower bearings for cam mechanisms or linear motions and are extensively utilized in machine tools, industrial robots, electronic devices, and office automation equipment, noted for their high rigidity and accuracy. They come pre-packed with grease, and adequate lubrication is essential between the cam followers and the steel track on which they operate to prevent seizure and minimize friction. An appropriate nut is included with the stud to facilitate installation.
