The IKO separable roller follower is composed of an inner ring, a needle roller cage, side plates, and a thick-walled outer ring designed to endure heavy rolling or shock loads, with the ability to be easily separated for convenient handling. Roller followers are offered in crowned or cylindrical outer ring configurations; the crowned outer ring reduces edge load caused by mounting errors, while the cylindrical variant is ideal for high load applications or those with low track surface hardness due to its larger contact area with the mating track surface. Double sealed followers, indicated by the suffixes ZZUU and ZZUUR, come pre-packed with grease, whereas double shielded models (suffixed ZZ and ZZR) require additional lubrication to ensure adequate performance. Sufficient lubrication is essential between the roller followers and the steel track to prevent seizure and minimize friction.
