The IKO separable roller follower consists of an inner ring, needle roller cage, side plates, and a thick-walled outer ring designed to withstand heavy rolling or shock loads, with parts that can be easily separated for enhanced handling. Roller followers are offered with either crowned or cylindrical outer rings; the crowned outer ring helps relieve edge load induced by mounting errors, while the cylindrical outer ring is ideal for applications involving large loads or low track surface hardness due to its larger contact area with the mating track surface. Double sealed followers, identified by the suffix ZZUU and ZZUUR, are pre-packed with grease, while double shielded followers (suffix ZZ and ZZR) require adequate lubrication to be added, as no grease is provided. Proper lubrication is essential between roller followers and the steel track to prevent seizure and minimize friction.
