The IKO separable roller follower is composed of an inner ring, needle roller cage, side plates, and a thick-walled outer ring designed to withstand heavy rolling or shock loads, allowing for easy handling due to the separable components. These roller followers are available in configurations featuring crowned or cylindrical outer rings; the crowned outer ring alleviates edge loading resulting from mounting errors, while the cylindrical type is ideal for applications involving large loads or low track surface hardness due to its extensive contact area with the mating track surface. Double sealed followers (suffix ZZUU & ZZUUR) are pre-packed with grease, while double shielded followers (suffix ZZ & ZZR) require adequate lubrication to be added, as they are not pre-greased. Proper lubrication between the roller followers and the steel track is essential to prevent seizure and minimize friction.
