Iko machined type needle roller bearings consist of a solid outer ring, rollers, and a retainer, without an inner ring. They feature low sectional height, large load ratings, and rigidity, and do not come with seals. Proper lubricant must be applied as prepacked grease is not provided for these series. The GTR series includes full complement bearings with mallet-shaped rollers that are guided by a guide rail and groove to minimize skewing. These bearings are suitable for applications involving heavy loads, shock loads, or oscillating motions, and are typically used with shafts that do not have inner rings. A shaft surface finish of 0.2MRA or less and shaft hardness of HRC 58 to 64 are recommended. If these requirements cannot be met, the use of Iko inner rings is advised.
