The IKO machined type needle roller bearing features a solid outer ring, rollers, and a retainer, designed without an inner ring. These bearings offer a low sectional height and large load ratings, with various options including sealed and unsealed versions, although prepacked lubricant is only provided for double sealed bearings (suffix UU). Proper lubricant must be applied during use, as these bearings are generally intended for use with shafts devoid of inner rings. A shaft surface finish of 0.2MRA or less and a hardness of HRC 58 to 64 are recommended. In situations where these specifications cannot be met, the use of IKO inner rings is advised.
