The 3M™ Cross Pad 341D measures 1" x 1" x 3/8" and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with an X-weight cloth backing, designed for close tolerance polishing of small radii and channels, deburring the ends and insides of tubing, and other specialized applications. Its flexible cross shape conforms to the diameter of the workpiece when inserted into holes or channels, making it suitable for inside diameter finishing tasks. The abrasive is secured with a heat-resistant resin bond to the cloth backing, allowing it to withstand high heat and pressure during heavy sanding. This cross pad attaches to a threaded mandrel (sold separately), which connects to rotary tools such as die grinders or drills, enabling grinding or finishing of inner contours in various-sized channels. The maximum RPM depends on the size of the pad. The aluminum oxide mineral is noted for its fast cut-rate, long life, and ability to self-fracture, exposing fresh cutting edges, making it ideal for woodworking and metalworking on a range of materials, including ferrous alloys. Applications include blending, cleaning internal diameters, deburring both internal and external diameters, grinding, polishing, and straight shaft grinding. Warranty terms apply as specified by 3M.
