The 3M™ Cross Pad 341D measures 2" x 2" x 1/2" and features a 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive on an X-weight cloth backing, designed for close tolerance polishing of small radii and channels, deburring ends and insides of tubing, and other specialized applications. Its flexible cross shape conforms to the diameter of the workpiece when inserted into holes or channels, making it ideal for inside diameter finishing tasks. The aluminum oxide abrasive is securely bonded to the cloth backing with a heat-resistant resin bond, providing durability, a fast cut-rate, and long life due to its self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges. This cross pad is intended to be attached to a threaded mandrel (sold separately), which connects to rotary tools like die grinders or drills, and the maximum RPM depends on the pad size. The resin bond ensures the abrasive particles remain firmly adhered under high heat and pressure during heavy sanding. Typical applications include blending, cleaning internal diameters, deburring, grinding, and polishing of internal diameters and straight shafts.
