The 3M™ cloth band 341D, measuring 2" diameter by 1-1/2" width with 36 grit aluminum oxide abrasive, is a spiral band or short tube designed to conform to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping. It features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing a fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This versatile band is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. The 341D cloth band fits onto rubber wheel attachments, such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels, for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, it offers fast cut-rate, durability, and long life, making it widely used in both woodworking and metalworking, including on ferrous alloys. The resin bond adheres abrasive particles to the cloth backing, enabling it to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in various widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, it is commonly used in applications like blending corners, contour finishing, deburring (including internal diameters), grinding, and polishing, predominantly within metal fabrication industries.
