The 3M™ Cloth Band 341D measures 3" in diameter and 3" in width with 50 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This spiral band, or short tube, conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping, making it suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. The band fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or rubber slotted expander wheel, for use with a die grinder or rotary drill; these attachments are sold separately. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, it is favored for its fast cut-rate, durability, and ability to work on a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys, making it a commonly used industrial abrasive. The resin bond between abrasive particles and cloth backing withstands high heat and pressure. Available in a range of widths and lengths, the bands are often used in foundry work and applications including blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing in metal fabrication industries.
