The 3M™ cloth band 747D 1" diameter by 1-1/2" width with 50 grit ceramic abrasive is designed for grinding, sanding, and shaping on all metals including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fiberglass. It effectively conforms to inner and outer contours to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs. The abrasive is a blend of aluminum oxide and 3M™ ceramic grain bonded with resin to a durable cotton backing, providing a fast continuous cut and long-life performance in aggressive applications. The resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, while a grinding aid reduces temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys. The band attaches to a rubber wheel attachment such as a cushion polishing wheel or rubber slotted expander wheel (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Available in various widths and lengths to suit different contours and tasks, the ceramic mineral grain is engineered to fracture frequently for a super-fast cut and superior toughness and hardness, surpassing aluminum oxide abrasives in cut rate and durability. This product is suitable for moderate stock removal and surface preparation, with applications including blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing in metal fabrication industries.
