The 3M™ cloth band 341D measures 1" diameter by 1/2" width and features an 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is a spiral band or short tube designed to conform to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping. The fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains are resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This versatile band is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as for shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel, both sold separately, for use with a die grinder or rotary drill. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, the band is known for its fast cut-rate, durability, and long life, and is widely used on various materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The resin bond creates a strong adherence to the cloth backing, allowing it to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in a range of widths and lengths, these bands are commonly employed in foundry work and applications such as blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, polishing, and metal fabrication.
