The 3M™ abrasive cloth band 341D measures 1" diameter by 1-1/2" width with 36 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This spiral band or short tube conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping, making it suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel (sold separately), for use with a die grinder or rotary drill. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, the band is favored for its fast cut-rate, durability, and long life, working effectively on various materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking applications. The abrasive particles bonded with resin withstand high heat and pressure. Bands come in various widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, commonly used in foundry work. Typical applications include blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing, primarily serving the metal fabrication industry.
