The 3M™ cloth band 341D is a 1" diameter by 2" wide abrasive cloth band made with 60 grit aluminum oxide grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing. Designed as a spiral band or short tube, it conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping, providing a fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This versatile abrasive is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as for shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. The 341D cloth band fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels, which are sold separately, for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, the band offers fast cut-rate, durability, and longevity, performing well on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The resin bond secures abrasive particles to the cloth backing, allowing it to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in multiple widths and lengths, these bands suit various contours and tasks, including foundry work, blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing, primarily used in metal fabrication industries.
