The 3M™ cloth band 341D is a 1/2" diameter by 1/2" width abrasive cloth band with P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains, designed as a spiral band or short tube that conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping. The fast-cutting aluminum oxide grains are resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This versatile band is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, it offers high durability and fast cut-rate, making it ideal for use on various materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The resin bond secures abrasive particles firmly to the cloth backing, enabling the band to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in multiple widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, it is frequently used in foundry work for applications like blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing in metal fabrication industries.
