The 3M™ abrasive cloth band 341D measures 1/2" diameter by 1/2" width with P180 grit aluminum oxide grains. This spiral band, also called a short tube, conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping. It features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing for continuous cutting and long-life performance. The abrasive cloth band is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or rubber slotted expander wheel (sold separately), for use with a die grinder or rotary drill. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, it is known for its fast cut-rate, durability, and long life, and can be used on various materials including ferrous alloys. The resin bond creates a strong adhesion for the abrasive particles, allowing resistance to high heat and pressure. The bands are available in various widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, commonly applied in foundry work. Typical applications include blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing in metal fabrication industries.
