The 3M™ cloth band 341D measures 1-1/2" diameter by 1-1/2" width with 50 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This spiral band or short tube is designed to conform to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping. It features fast-cutting aluminum oxide grains resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance. The band is suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or rubber slotted expander wheel, both sold separately, for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, the band is chosen for its fast cut-rate, durability, and long life, applicable to a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The resin adhesive withstands high heat and pressure, ensuring a strong bond of abrasive particles to the cloth backing. Bands are available in various widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, commonly used in foundry work for blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing in metal fabrication applications.
