The 3M™ abrasive cloth band 341D measures 1-1/2" diameter by 1-1/2" width and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable cloth backing for fast continuous cut and long-life performance. This spiral band or short tube conforms to inner and outer contours for sanding and shaping, suitable for grinding to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs, as well as shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. It fits onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel (both sold separately), for use with a die grinder or rotary drill. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, the band is favored for its fast cut rate, durability, and versatility across materials including ferrous alloys, commonly used in metalworking and woodworking industries, especially metal fabrication. The resin bond adheres abrasive particles to the cloth backing, providing a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The bands come in a range of widths and lengths to accommodate various contours and tasks and are often used in foundry work for blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing, including polishing internal diameters.
