3M™ Paper Sheet 426U 9" x 11" 100 Grit Silicon Carbide is a general purpose abrasive sanding sheet constructed on an A-weight light paper backing, featuring an anti-loading coating and open coat construction. The silicon carbide abrasive and lightweight paper backing make this sheet ideal for finishing applications such as paint prep, white wood sanding, sealer sanding, and solid surface finishing. The resin bond construction provides superior grain retention, while the open coat and load resistant coating deliver excellent antiloading characteristics. The light A-weight backing allows conformability over contours, crevices, and corners, and the sheet can be easily cut to fit hand pad blocks, inline sanders, or power sanders. It is designed for general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and prep prior to staining or painting, offering the ideal abrasive grain type and grades for multi-step finishing processes. Silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral commonly used for final finishing in white wood sanding, breaks down faster than aluminum oxide but produces a superior finish.
