The 3M™ paper sheet 346U measures 2-3/4" x 17-1/2" and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains. Made from aluminum oxide, a very hard mineral that maintains sharp points longer than natural abrasives like emery or garnet, the sheet uses an open-coat construction where abrasive grains are spaced to reduce dust buildup and prevent loading, especially when sanding soft materials. The durable paper backing is suitable for coarse sanding yet flexible enough for curved surfaces, making it ideal for blending joints in wood- and metal-working. This sandpaper is commonly used for blending and prepping metal surfaces prior to painting. It serves industries such as cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture manufacturing, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing.
