3M™ paper sheet 346U measures 3" x 8" and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. Constructed from aluminum oxide, a very hard mineral that maintains sharp grain edges longer than natural abrasives like emery or garnet, this sheet is designed for durability and efficient sanding. The paper backing is durable enough for coarse sanding while remaining flexible for use on curved surfaces. The abrasive grains are arranged with open-coat construction to reduce dust buildup and loading, which commonly occurs when sanding soft materials, thereby extending the sheet's usable life. The 346U is suitable for blending joints in wood- and metal-working, prepping metal surfaces before painting, and is widely used in cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing industries.
