The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Sheet 4" x 4" SFN Grit Silicon Carbide uses a conformable non-woven web combined with silicon carbide abrasive mineral to blend, clean, and finish surfaces effectively. The sheet is flexible and suitable for contour finishing, lacquer finishing, and polishing, making it ideal for accessing hard-to-reach areas to produce a uniform finish. It is designed to clean, blend, and condition metals, wood, composites, and advanced surfaces, and is also effective for paint preparation. Typical applications include cabinetry, custom woodworking and millwork, furniture, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing. The sheets are washable, reusable, resist loading, and provide consistent conditioning results throughout their life. They can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander for large area coverage. The silicon carbide mineral used is synthetic, very sharp, and suited for low-pressure applications such as paint prep and finishing; it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide but produces a finer finish. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that runs cool and is load resistant, delivering consistent results for the product's life. The sheets measure 4 inches by 4 inches and utilize the SFN grit specification.
