3M™ paper sheet 346U 9" x 11" 40 grit aluminum oxide is constructed of aluminum oxide with a durable paper backing that is flexible enough for use on curved surfaces. It features an open-coat construction where abrasive grains are spaced to minimize dust buildup, reducing loading common with sanding soft materials and extending the usable life. The aluminum oxide grains maintain sharp points longer than natural abrasives such as emery or garnet. This sandpaper is suitable for coarse sanding tasks including blending joints of connecting pieces in wood and metal-working, as well as prepping metal surfaces prior to painting. It is commonly used in cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing industries.
