The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Sheet measures 3-3/4" x 9" and features a very fine (VFN) grit silicon carbide abrasive mineral. This conformable non-woven sheet, made from an open-web fiber matrix, is designed for blending, cleaning, finishing, contour finishing, lacquer finishing, and polishing, particularly in hard-to-reach areas to produce a uniform finish. It effectively cleans, blends, and conditions metals, wood, composites, and advanced surfaces, making it suitable for applications including cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing. The sheets are washable, reusable, load-resistant, and provide consistent conditioning throughout their life. They can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander for large area coverage. Silicon carbide, as a synthetic sharp mineral, is ideal for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide, which is valued for a high cut rate and long life.
