The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Sheet measures 9" x 11" and features a very fine non-woven web with aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. It is designed for blending, cleaning, and finishing on metals, wood, composites, and advanced surfaces, and is effective for paint preparation, contour finishing, lacquer finishing, and polishing. The flexible sheet accesses hard-to-reach areas to produce a uniform finish and is washable and reusable, resisting loading to maintain consistent conditioning results throughout its lifespan. It can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander for large area coverage. Available options include silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasives; silicon carbide offers sharpness for low-pressure applications and finer finishes but breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, which provides a high cut rate and long life. Talc is a mild abrasive used to achieve satin finishes or, when combined with polish, high-gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing applications. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix, producing an abrasive system that runs cool, resists loading, and ensures consistent results for the product’s life.
