The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 36 inches by 10 yards and features Silicon Carbide Very Fine (VFN) grit, designed for finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning a variety of surfaces including metals, wood, and plastics, as well as hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length for precise control, either by hand or paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, or used with inline or oscillating sanders for larger areas. This general-purpose pad provides consistent surface conditioning throughout the product's life, with load resistance that keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a consistent cut rate. Manufactured with an abrasive mineral choice of silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc, silicon carbide is a very sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish though it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, which offers a high cut rate and long life. Talc provides a mild abrasive effect to achieve satin finishes or, with polish, a high-gloss finish in topcoat rubbing. The unique Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance by limiting clogging and running cool due to its open-web material. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding in industries such as metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
