The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 6 inches by 10 yards and features a silicon carbide ULF grit abrasive, designed for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll can be cut to any length for precise control, providing consistent surface conditioning throughout its life due to load resistance that keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a steady cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be used by hand or paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, and it is compatible with inline or oscillating sanders for larger surfaces. Available abrasive minerals include silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, and talc—silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure tasks like paint prep and finishing, aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life, while talc is a mild abrasive that achieves satin or high gloss finishes when used with polish. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate these minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an open-web material that runs cool, resists loading, and maintains high performance by limiting fiber clogging. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding in industries such as metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
