The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 10 inches by 10 yards and features aluminum oxide medium grit abrasive mineral, designed for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be cut to any length and provides consistent surface conditioning throughout the product's life, with load resistance that keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a consistent cut rate. It can be used by hand for precise control or paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, and also used on inline or oscillating sanders to cover larger areas. The Scotch-Brite™ rolls are manufactured with options of silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure applications like paint prep, aluminum oxide offers a high cut-rate and long life, producing a coarser finish than silicon carbide, while talc is a mild abrasive for satin finishes or high gloss topcoat rubbing. The abrasives are incorporated into a non-woven fiber matrix creating an abrasive system that maintains performance by being load resistant and cool running, which limits clogging and preserves cutting action. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding, with industries served including metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
