The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 12 inches by 10 yards and features aluminum silicate SFN grit. It delivers consistent results for finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on various metals, wood, plastic surfaces, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length, providing consistent surface conditioning for the life of the product. It incorporates load resistance to keep abrasive particles exposed, maintaining a consistent cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be cut and used by hand for precise control, while wider width stock can be paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing or used on inline or oscillating sanders for larger areas. Scotch-Brite™ rolls are manufactured with a choice of abrasive minerals: silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc. Silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suitable for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life due to its hard, blocky mineral structure, and talc serves as a mild abrasive for achieving satin or high gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing applications. These abrasives are embedded into a non-woven fiber matrix, combining abrasives and material to deliver consistent results throughout the product’s life. The open-web design keeps the material cool and load-resistant, preventing clogging and ensuring high performance. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding across industries such as metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
