The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish roll measures 12 inches by 10 yards and features aluminum oxide medium grit abrasive designed for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length and provides consistent surface conditioning throughout its life. Its load resistance ensures abrasive particles remain exposed for a consistent cut rate. This general purpose pad can be used by hand for precise control or cut to fit a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, and it is compatible with inline or oscillating sanders for larger surface areas. Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish rolls are made with a choice of silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasives; aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life, while silicon carbide produces a finer finish but breaks down faster, and talc is suited for satin or high gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing. The abrasive is embedded in a non-woven fiber matrix that provides a consistent cutting performance by combining abrasives and open-web material that runs cool and resists clogging. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding, serving industries such as metalworking, MRO, and woodworking.
