The 3M Stikit paper refill roll measures 2-1/2 inches wide by 100 inches long and features a silicon carbide abrasive with a 280 grit rating. The open coat abrasive of the 426U roll is fast cutting and load resistant, providing a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives. The roll is sized to fit various sanding blocks, minimizing waste and supplying bulk stock for high production environments. It includes a Stikit pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing that securely holds the abrasive during use and allows for quick, clean changes when worn. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral, is very sharp and commonly used for final finishing, especially in white wood sanding, producing a superior finish though it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide. Applications include general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, prep prior to staining or painting, clear coat dulling, bare wood sanding, lacquer sanding, scuffing, sealant removal, varnish stripping, cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture manufacturing, and primary wood and panel processing. The abrasive is ready to use with its pressure sensitive adhesive for easy pressing onto backup or hand pads, and removal without contamination of the surface.
