The 3M Stikit paper refill roll measures 2-1/2 inches wide by 70 inches long and features silicon carbide abrasive with 120 grit. The open coat abrasive is fast cutting, load resistant, and provides a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives. This roll is sized to fit various sanding blocks, minimizing waste and supplying bulk stock for high production environments. The Stikit pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing securely holds the paper during sanding and finishing, allowing quick and easy changes when the product is worn. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness, is commonly used for final finishing in white wood sanding, delivering a superior finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide.
