The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 48 inches by 10 yards and features silicon carbide very fine (VFN) grit, designed for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach surfaces. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length and provides uniform surface conditioning throughout its lifespan, with load resistance that keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a consistent cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be used by hand for precise control or paired with a hand pad holder or inline and oscillating sanders to cover larger areas evenly. The Clean and Finish Rolls are manufactured with a choice of silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral used for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but breaking down faster than aluminum oxide, which offers a higher cut rate and longer life, while talc is a mild abrasive used to achieve satin or high gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives combine abrasive minerals within a non-woven fiber matrix that is open-web, load-resistant, and cool-running to prevent clogging and maintain high cutting performance. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, general finishing, and lacquer sanding, serving industries such as marine, metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
