The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish roll measures 48 inches by 10 yards and features talc abrasive mineral designed for finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock is easily cut to any length and provides consistent surface conditioning throughout its lifespan, with load resistance that keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a consistent cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be used by hand for precise control or cut for use with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, and is compatible with inline or oscillating sanders for larger area coverage. Scotch-Brite™ rolls are available with silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasives; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing, aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life with a harder texture, and talc is a mild abrasive used to achieve satin finishes or, with polish, high gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing tasks. These abrasives are embedded in a non-woven fiber matrix that combines abrasives and open-web material, allowing the product to run cool, resist loading, and maintain high-performance cutting by reducing clogging. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding, with primary industries being metalworking, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
