The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish roll measures 5-1/2" x 10 yards and features silicon carbide medium grit abrasive designed for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on various surfaces such as metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length and provides consistent surface conditioning throughout its life. Load resistance technology keeps abrasive particles exposed to maintain a consistent cut rate, allowing the general-purpose pad to be precisely controlled by hand or paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, or used with inline or oscillating sanders to cover larger areas. The roll is made with synthetic silicon carbide, known for its sharpness suitable for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish though it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide. Alternatively, Scotch-Brite™ rolls are also available with aluminum oxide, a hard blocky mineral offering high cut rates and long life, or talc, a mild abrasive used for satin finishes or high gloss finishes when polished. These abrasives are embedded into a non-woven fiber matrix that creates an open-web material designed to run cool and resist loading, limiting fiber clogging and maintaining high abrasive performance. The product supports applications in blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding and is suitable for industries including metalworking, maintenance repair and operations (MRO), and woodworking.
