The 3M™ Full Tapered Cartridge Roll 341D measures 1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/8" and features aluminum oxide abrasive with an 80 grit. This cartridge roll provides easy access to small, hard-to-reach spaces for sanding and finishing tasks. The design allows the outermost abrasive layer to wear down while the cloth backing frays, exposing fresh abrasive layers for continued cutting action. The closed coat of aluminum oxide abrasive is secured with a heat-resistant resin bond, making it suitable for various metalworking applications. Aluminum oxide is favored by industrial professionals due to its fast cut-rate and longevity, as it self-fractures to maintain fresh cutting edges. This cartridge roll is compatible with a cartridge roll mandrel (sold separately), which attaches to rotary tools like die grinders or drills, enabling effective grinding or finishing in hard-to-reach areas. Correct fitment requires that the center hole diameter of the cartridge roll matches the diameter of the mandrel pilot. Applications include blending, contour finishing, deburring, grinding, and polishing. The cartridge roll is specifically designed for use in metal fabrication industries.
