The 3M Stikit paper refill roll measures 3-1/4 inches wide by 100 inches long and features a silicon carbide abrasive with a 400 grit rating. This open coat abrasive is fast cutting, load resistant, and provides a smoother finish than aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives. It is designed to fit various sanding blocks and minimizes waste, offering bulk stock suitable for high production environments. The Stikit pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing ensures secure attachment during sanding and finishing, allowing for quick and easy replacement when worn. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness, is ideal for final finishing in white wood sanding; although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it yields a superior finish. The product is ready to use with the PSA coating enabling it to press onto backup or hand pads cleanly, leaving no residue for the next sheet.
