The 3M Stikit Paper Refill Roll measures 3-1/4" W x 95" L and features silicon carbide with a 220 grit rating. This open coat abrasive, designated as 3M™ Stikit™ Paper Roll 426U, is known for its fast cutting and load-resistant properties, resulting in a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives. Designed to fit various sanding blocks, this roll minimizes waste and serves as bulk stock for high production environments. Its Stikit™ PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) backing ensures secure handling during use and allows for quick and easy changeouts when the product is worn. The roll is suitable for a variety of applications including general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, preparation prior to painting or staining, clear coat dulling, and bare wood sanding. Silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral, is used for final finishing in white wood sanding; although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it yields a superior finish. The 3M™ Stikit™ products are engineered for diverse sanding and finishing tasks, coming ready to use with an adhesive coating on the backside for seamless attachment to backup or hand pads, while removing cleanly to leave an uncontaminated surface. Additional applications include finishing, lacquer sanding, scuffing, sealant removal, and varnish stripping.
