The 3M utility cloth roll measures 1 inch wide by 50 yards long and features aluminum oxide abrasive with a 500 grit rating. The desired length of the strip can be torn from the roll for specific applications, and the light J-weight cloth backing provides flexibility to conform to circular edges, angles, or other contours while remaining durable when bent or rolled without tearing or shelling. The cloth can also be torn by hand when smaller pieces are needed without compromising the sanding surface. The aluminum oxide abrasive is a fast cut-rate, long-lasting mineral that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a wide variety of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood, and plastic. The sanding surface is closed-coat, covering 100% of the surface for maximum cutting efficiency.
