The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish roll measures 2-1/2" x 10 yds and features aluminum oxide VFN grit, designed to deliver consistent results for finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on a variety of metals, wood, plastic surfaces, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be easily cut to any length and provides consistent surface conditioning for the life of the product. Load resistance technology keeps the abrasive particles exposed for maintaining a consistent cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be cut and used by hand for precise control or paired with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, and it is also compatible with inline or oscillating sanders to cover larger areas. Scotch-Brite™ clean and finish rolls are manufactured with a choice of silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasive minerals. Aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral offering a high cut rate and long life, while silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications producing a finer finish though it breaks down faster. Talc serves as a mild abrasive for satin finishes or, when used with polish, for high gloss finishes in topcoat rubbing applications. The abrasive minerals are incorporated into a non-woven fiber matrix that creates an abrasive system delivering consistent results throughout the product's lifespan. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, limiting clogging of fibers and maintaining high cutting performance. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding, primarily serving metalworking, MRO, and woodworking industries.
