The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Sheet Roll features long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a lightweight paper backing designed for lightweight hand sanding and finishing. Its open coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent loading, extending the life of the abrasive and producing a smooth finish. The sheet roll is intended for hand finishing applications commonly found in woodworking, including varnish, sealers, whitewood, and light color substrates. The product includes a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside that allows the sheet to press onto a backup pad or hand pad securely and remove cleanly without contaminating the next sheet or disc. The open coat design spaces abrasive grains to collect dust and debris in the gaps rather than clogging the abrasive surface, which enhances cutting efficiency and durability. This construction also provides a more aggressive cut than a closed coat abrasive of the same grade for faster results. Typical applications include finishing, lacquer sanding, orbital sanding, scuffing, sealant removal, varnish stripping, cabinetry, custom woodworking and millwork, furniture production, and primary wood and panel processing industries.
