The Southwire Type SJOOW flexible cords are designed for applications as specified by Article 400 and related articles of the National Electrical Code, making them suitable for wiring portable tools, appliances, equipment, small motors, and associated machinery. These flexible cords meet or exceed all applicable requirements of UL Standard 62, CSA Standard 22.2 No. 49, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) flame resistance standards for mining applications. The product complies with Federal and Military Specification JC-580B, NEC Article 400, is OSHA acceptable, and is RoHS compliant. The construction features bare flexible stranded Class K copper conductors with heat, moisture, and oil-resistant EPDM rubber insulation. The insulated conductors are cabled with non-wicking polypropylene fillers, and a tissue-paper separator is wrapped around the assembly to facilitate easier jacket removal. A heat, moisture, and oil-resistant flexible CPE jacket is extruded over the assembly, with sizes ranging from 18 through 10 AWG made from fully annealed stranded bare copper per ASTM B-174; some sizes may be subject to minimum order quantities.
