Southwire Type UF-B cable is a 2 conductor cable designed for various applications, particularly as a feeder to outside post lamps, pumps, and other loads or apparatus from a distribution point in existing buildings as per the 2008 National Electrical Code. This cable is suitable for underground use, including direct burial, featuring two hot conductors and a ground wire. The cable can also serve interior branch circuit wiring in residential or agricultural buildings at conductor temperatures not exceeding 90°C, with ampacity limited to that for 60°C conductors in compliance with the National Electrical Code. It is rated for a voltage of 600 volts and meets or exceeds UL Standard 83, UL Standard 493, and Federal Specification A-A-59544. The construction comprises annealed (soft) copper conductors, available in solid or compressed stranded forms, with phase conductors insulated in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and further protected by a nylon jacket, which is color-coded for identification. The jacket is engineered from sunlight, moisture, and fungus-resistant gray PVC, ensuring durability and reliability.
