THHN 2 gauge building wire, stranded type, white, is designed for various applications including conduit and cable trays for services, feeders, and branch circuits in commercial or industrial settings, as per the 2008 National Electrical Code. This wire can be utilized as type THHN, suitable for dry locations at temperatures not exceeding 90 °C, or as type THWN-2 or TWN75, which is appropriate for both wet and dry locations with temperature limits of 90 °C or 75 °C when exposed to oil. Additionally, when classified as MTW, it can function in wet locations or when exposed to oil at temperatures not exceeding 60 °C or in dry environments at temperatures up to 90 °C (ampacity limited to that for 75 °C as per NFPA 79). The wire can withstand conductor temperatures up to 105 °C in dry locations when rated AWM as appliance wiring material or when utilizing T90 nylon, and is rated for a voltage of 600 volts without requiring pulling lubricant for installation. The Southwire Simpull THHN, THWN-2, or MTW cables comply with all applicable standards, including ASTM specifications, UL Standard 83, UL 1581, UL Standard 1063 (MTW), CSA, CUL, NOM-ANCE 90 °C, Federal Specification A-A-59544, and National Electrical Code requirements, with VW-1 ratings for sizes 14 through 1 AWG CT for UL 1685 (sizes 1/0 AWG and larger) and FT1 ratings for sizes up to 500 kcmil. The T90 nylon and TWN 75 types are compatible up to 500 kcmil, and the wire is ROHS compliant and sunlight resistant, marked and listed in all colors 2 AWG and larger. The construction features annealed (soft) copper, unilay compressed strand, insulated with a durable heat and moisture-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and covered with a SIM (SlikQwik infused membrane) nylon (polyamide) or an equivalent UL recognized jacket.
