TFFN 16 gauge building wire is a stranded type wire, available in white, and is suitable for various applications including fixture wire, machine tool wiring, and appliance wiring as per the 2008 National Electrical Code. This wire, when employed as type TFFN, can operate at temperatures not exceeding 90°C. As type MTW, it is suitable for wet locations or exposure to oil or coolant with a maximum temperature of 60°C, or for dry locations up to 90°C, with ampacity limited to that for 75°C conductor temperature according to NFPA 79. When rated as AWM for appliance wiring, conductor temperatures can reach up to 105°C in dry locations. The wire is rated for a voltage of 600 volts and complies with UL standard 66 and the National Electrical Code, while also being RoHS compliant. The construction features annealed (soft) copper conductors insulated with durable, heat and moisture-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and a nylon (polyamide) jacket. This wire is available in a variety of colors including black, white, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, purple, gray, and pink, with certain colors available based on economic order quantity. Additionally, it is oil and gasoline resistant as defined by Underwriters Laboratories.
