Southwire Type UF-B Cable is designed for various applications, primarily as a feeder to outside post lamps, pumps, and other loads or apparatus connected to a distribution point in an existing building, in accordance with the 2008 National Electrical Code. It is suitable for underground use, including direct burial, and can serve as interior branch circuit wiring in residential or agricultural buildings where conductor temperatures do not exceed 90°C, with ampacity limited to that of 60°C conductors as specified in the National Electrical Code. Additionally, UF-B cable is applicable in scenarios permitted for NMC as outlined in Section 334.10(B) of the National Electrical Code, with a voltage rating of 600 volts. This cable meets or exceeds UL Standard 83, UL Standard 493, Federal Specification A-A-59544, and relevant National Electrical Code requirements. The construction features a 2 conductor configuration with a ground wire, utilizing annealed (soft) copper conductors that are either solid or compressed stranded. The phase conductors are insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and jacketed in a nylon, color-coded for identification. The outer jacket is made from gray PVC, which is resistant to sunlight, moisture, and fungi.
